Probably the biggest decision a couple who are planning to marry will have too make is their choice of wedding rings; unlike so many other wedding items that need to be arranged, this is one area that belongs solely to the couple. Do not underestimate just how essential it is to find the right ones; rings should be a reflection of the couple that wear them. Quality jewelers are not always easy to find and those that specialize in wedding rings are even harder; you may not find the right type of jeweler from the many in your local mall.



Your local mall jeweler may not stock a variety of metals, styles and finishes; you would be better off spending time at jewelers that will be able to provide what you are looking for. When choosing, you will want a ring for the bride that will complement the engagement ring she is already wearing.



Remember the wedding ring should not be excessively elaborate, or overshadow the engagement ring; although you can buy them in matching sets, this is not always possible. Alternatively you will just need to spend time trying new wedding bands until you find one that matches the engagement ring.



Although some metals are fashionable for a while, including: (1) Silver, (2) White Gold, (3) Yellow Gold and (4) Titanium; recently however, platinum has become the metal of choice because of its durability. Platinum is a particularly good choice for rings as they keep their looks for much longer than gold and men appreciate the strength that is inherent in platinum. Why men? Well they are more likely to damage their ring whilst working; a greater number of men still work in manual industries than women.



When you are spending a large sum of money on wedding rings, you want to be sure that they fit perfectly; this should be carried out by the jeweler to ensure there are no mistakes. Neither ring should be so tight that they require lubrication to put them on or take them off; just as in the same way they can be so loose they can be easily lost.



If you want to make sure your rings are ready in good time for the wedding, give your jeweler plenty of time to complete any adjustments; he may have a number to complete and you do not want a problem on the wedding day. If you go to the right jewelers, there will be a large range of wedding bands to choose from; it will take time and perhaps even more than one visit so allow for this in your wedding planning.
